Join a hive of activity celebrating insects this month as we investigate the important world of bugs!
We’ll be studying bug anatomy, creating imaginary arthropods and acting out Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar during Story Time. Other creepy, crawly tales include Anansi’s Narrow Waist by Len Cabral, I Love Bugs! by Emma Dodd and Ten Little Caterpillars by Bill Martin Jr.
Do you know what shrimp and spiders have in common? Join us for our daily Science Show as we take a close look at some amazing arthropods.

Behind the scenes: Renovated puppets, energetic staff bring show to life

Crouched on a low stool in a narrow dark room, Creative Play Professional, Cortney Peterson hefts the mermaid over her head, stretching her right arm as high as it will go into the mouth of the puppet.
Colorful lights flash and a calypso beat plays. It’s showtime at the Town Hall Stage.
“You and me, into the sea. You and me, into the sea,” the mermaid sings as Cortney’s hand moves, opening and closing the puppet’s wide, lipsticked mouth and bobbing her head in time to the music.
With her left hand, Cortney waves a wooden rod tethered to the puppet’s left hand, making the mermaid gesture wildly with each high note.
Beside her, Coordinator Lauren Braun crouches on another stool, whispering cues and readying a cast of characters that includes a clown fish, hermit crab, octopus and Keep reading.

Paint the town red as we investigate the stunning science of color, create brightly hued works of art and read colorful stories including Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni, Press Here by Herve Tullet and Red and Yellow’s Noisy Night by Josh Selig.

For our littlest musicians (age 2) and their adult, Music Makers is filled with family-friendly musical activities in an engaging atmosphere. This Camp helps children develop early vocabulary and math skills through fun rhythms, nursery rhymes and music and movement.
For ages 3-4, Musical Literacy will explore some of our favorite stories in a whole new way by pairing them with musical instruments and singing. For example, folktales about drums will encourage children to play along with rhythm sticks and to create their own beats. Children in Keep reading.
